Doocy cited a report by a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) that said the country took in Afghan evacuees not fully vetted by the government. The press secretary disputed the report, claiming the U.S. government imposed a ārigorous and multi-layeredā screening and vetting process.
He then questioned her on whether āMAGA [Make America Great Again] Republicansā or DHS-listed national security threats pose a bigger threat to the U.S.
āSo in the last week or so, weāve heard the president calling elected Republicans a threat to the country,ā he said. āDoes he think MAGA Republicans are more of a threat to the country than people DHS says may pose a risk to national security and the safety of local communities?ā
